How do I choose the right  LED spot?

I want to switch from halogen to LED, what should I pay attention to?

When switching to LED it is important that you know the wattage of your current lamp. On the LED  product page there is a filter on the left with which you can select your current wattage and thus see all replacements. In addition, the color that the lamp radiates is also important. In the lighting world, we talk about 'Kelvin' values when we talk about the color of light

Which light beam do I need?

Once you have your current wattage and the color again it is important to know what you want to use the light for. This is because every spot has a different light beam. The light beam from a lamp is the angle at which the light is emitted. The smaller the angle in degrees (D), the narrower the light beam. A narrow beam is for example to highlight your paintings or art. A wider light beam is there for general lighting. The most commonly used light beam for general lighting is between 24 and 40 degrees.

Is LED  dimmable?

Yes! When you use the filter on the LED  product page, you can choose whether or not your spot should be dimmable. If you dim the light, the light becomes less. But there is now also a dimmable lamp whose light does not diminish but is even warmer in color. From Crestled this is the Dimtone and from Osram the GlowDim. With these spots it is possible to dim from 2700K to 2200K - so you can create more atmosphere in the places where this might be needed.
